Job Summary:

Responsible for directing and coordinating production engineering and R&D activities of the department.

Job Duties:

  • Organize all production engineering and R&D activities based on priorities established in coordination with the president
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to production engineering and to R&D personnel
  • Supervise production engineering and R&D personnel
  • Schedule proper training for department personnel
  • Provide Engineering expertise and support to designated company-departments
  • Provide Engineering expertise to customers and vendors
  • Establish Engineering policies and procedures for Configuration Management, engineering department daily operation, and design and document control
  • Provide design expertise for new products including technical response for RFQ’s and RFI’s
  • Manage and coordinate all DER submittals based on established priorities
  • Continuously seek methods of establishing new business opportunities, design new capabilities
  • Continuously seek methods of improvements to existing manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment
  • Provide Failure Analysis capabilities to determine Root Cause and Corrective Action

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication and be very detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of the principles of heat transfer design
  • Excellent computer skills and creating presentations for customers, corporate executives, and department managers

Educational & Work Experience:

  • BSME or equivalent
  • MSME or PE license a plus
  • Managerial experience
  • Degreed Engineer (mechanical, industrial) for Engineering Dept. additional business degree a plus
  • Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Business degree with Project Management for other department
  • Leadership in manufacturing industry – 5-7 years
  • Aerospace Experience in a leadership position
  • Proven record of improvements/changes while in a leadership position
  • Driven and successful in pursuing, identifying, and solving problems
  • Experience in strategic planning with responsibility for the profit of the organization
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines, exercising effective priority management and follow up
  • Proficient in Microsoft office – experience in producing reports and presentations
