JOB SUMMARY This hourly, non-exempt position is a specialized aircraft service involving good dual action polishing skills and great patience. Knowledge of surface paint finishing is a plus. Tech will train and work directly with Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager to complete as much aircraft detailing as possible per day/week. May require travel up to one week at a time nationally and internationally. Must be able to complete internal company work orders in accordance with company guidelines. Job duties will vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Detail aircraft exteriors and polish bright work Train and study aircraft window repair. Tape and prepare aircraft for detail work. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Working around aircraft a plus Paint experience a plus. High physical labor production a plus. Initiative Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace. Able to process work without supervision. Must maintain neat and clean job site. Must have great patience. Must be detail oriented and great organizational skills. Responsibility Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintain a positive customer service environment. Contacts Airframe Team Leader and Team Leaders of other departments assigned to multiple aircraft. Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager, Department Managers, Director of Maintenance and General Manager. Customers or outside vendors. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting. Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Must have agile hands and fingers. Mental Requirements Ability to perform detail-oriented hands-on work. Must have great patience to complete work. Ability to work with others in a professional manner. Supervision Will work under supervision of the Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager. Working Conditions The work will be accomplished in both a hangar environment and office environment. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment Used Dual action sanders provided by West Star. Hand sanding tools provided by West Star. Any other specialized equipment required to perform job will be provided by West Star.
