Responsible for all Aircraft Field Maintenance outstations, their coordination and duties. Completes ongoing review of aircraft contractors for proper qualifications, capabilities and assist in agreement negotiations. Completes drafting of external maintenance contracts for Aircraft Field Maintenance providers. Ensure that all maintenance personnel under his/her direction are properly trained and qualified to perform the assigned tasks. Reviews, updates and issues GMM changes within the departments on an ongoing basis. Completes administrate timekeeping for subordinate within Field Maintenance.

  • This position provides operation control, oversight and procedural guidelines for all outsourced maintenance.  It reviews maintenance contractors’ qualifications in accordance with CFRs and Frontier Airlines standards as outlined in Frontier Airlines’ GMM (training records, maintenance courses, certifications, exams, insurance, drug program, etc.
  • Negotiate and draft external maintenance contracts that cover non-Frontier Airlines maintenance contractors.
  • Manage Aircraft Field Maintenance contractors and is in charge of all aspects of administration of Frontier personnel within the department.
  • Write PAF’s and staffing requisitions for the Aircraft Field Maintenance department.  Interview and hire new employees within the department.
  • Ensure weekly time cards are reviewed and approved within the company timekeeping system.
  • Manage aircraft field maintenance budgets.
  • Audit and approve expense reports and invoices to ensure all needed information is available on
  • Document and /track expenditures for field stations.
  • Screen, direct, and respond to incoming calls and inquires: interpret departmental correspondence
  • and/or take action on correspondence.
  • Make recommendations to Supply Chain management of what type of supplies are required to
  • support Class II, III, Class IV and On-Call Maintenance Stations via email using the Aircraft Field
  • Maintenance allocation spreadsheet.
  • Update and maintain Field Maintenance Providers list as outlined in Frontier’s GMM.
  • Maintain filing system for various documents (copies of certificates, DOT verifications, insurance
  • paperwork, proper aircraft fleet qualifications).  Maintain currency of department-assigned company manuals and aircraft supplemental manuals.
  • Coordinate the start-up of New Frontier Airlines cities.
  • Answers audit findings of FAA, assists with the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Reviews department training to ensure that personnel themselves have current training and qualifications to perform assigned tasks
  • Evaluate aircraft equipment, tooling, and support equipment for new training topics as outlined in GMM 100.01: Maintenance Training General Information
  • Any other duties that are relative to the Aircraft Field Maintenance department that have been assigned by the Director of Maintenance


  • FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  •  FCC Radio license preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of aircraft related maintenance work
  • Airbus heavy maintenance and line maintenance experience
  • Preferred — Prior exposure to Human Resources process
  • Preferred — Prior experience with developing and updating department budgets
