Job Description

Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft and components of moderate difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and/or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals. The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests. Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications required for assigned work.

 

Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment. Considerable care and judgment required to fit and adjust parts and assemblies to requirements and specifications and in performing various assembly and installation operations. Work with the guidance of more senior skilled employees, while assisting Level 1 General Mechanics. Perform all duties of Level I General Mechanic classifications as required to successfully accomplish assignments.

Qualifications 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

 
This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
 

This position will require the ability to obtain a security clearance with a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or T5 Investigation and customer approval as a condition of employment.

  • If applicable, please indicate clearly on resume highest level of US Security Clearance obtained along with date received.
  • Please clearly indicate on your resume your aircraft platform experience.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):

 

  • Position requires 4 to 6 years of experience in those duties as previously described for satisfactory performance.
  • Knowledgeable in shop mathematics, hydraulics, mechanical, pneumatic and assembly methods and shop practice.
  • Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to: maintenance data collection systems, aircraft-related systems, standard Boeing software packages and proprietary software systems (for example, NCM).

 

PREFERRED:

 

  • Current US security clearance at the secret level or higher; Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) is ideal.
  • Experience with Very Important (VIP) aircraft or specialty aircraft interiors installations within the last ten (10) years.
  • FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power plant AND minimum of 6 years experience is preferred.
