Role Summary:
This position of Airfoil Casting Buyer will support the Airfoils castings procurement team. This is a key position operating within a dynamic cross functional team environment advancing industry leading technological advances. Supporting all major engine programs, the position interfaces with Design, Manufacturing Programs, Turbine Airfoil Value Stream and Finance personnel. Supports business commercial activities including development of multi-year forecasts and new program introduction cost.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, the Airfoil Casting Buyer will :

* Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels

* Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers

* Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement

* Manage claims
* Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc.
* This may also include purchasing activities

* Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements

* Work with allocated key suppliers to improve On Time Delivery and Quality statistics to target levels

* Communicate across direct organization

* Present to senior leaders (EB and SEB) in specific purchasing space and on cross functional teams on how purchasing contributes to overall strategy

* Assist in the continuous development of the Procurement function towards best practice

* Identify and deliver value-adding opportunities from the supply chain

* Advise Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures within own field

* Has a role as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commodity Management
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

* This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

* Prior experience constructing, negotiating and managing contracts of significant value

* Prior experience working with global companies and U.S. trade compliance requirements

* Previous experience leading cross functional teams to implement major projects and programs

* Ability to balance multiple conflicting projects to establish priorities for the overall best business outcome

* Change agent with strong aptitude for work, confident, tenacious and assertive personality

* A problem solver that drives to overcome barriers

* Strong negotiator capable of handling commercial and contractual efforts

* Strong influencer that can function within a team environment

* Demonstrated ability to prepare and utilize financial tools in the creation forecasts

* Previous manufacturing shop operation or engineering experience

* Previous experience with casting industry

* Previous experience with super alloys and elemental constituents and ability to translate into cost risk forecasting

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Ability to influence others and lead small teams

* Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

* Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

* Effective problem identification and solution skills

* Proven analytical and organizational ability
