Job Description

The System Analyst will play a major role in new system implementations, enhancements, maintenance and government mandates and all departmental system projects. The role of the Systems Analyst is to work as a liaison between the business and technology teams in order to improve the products and services of the Cargo Accounting Department.

 

Day-to-day duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the Cargo Accounts Receivable System (CARS), departmental MS-Access databases, departmental servers, and system tables and schedules
  • Data gathering, review and analysis of data, data validation and integrity
  • Creation and execution of monthly and ad hoc reporting
  • Trouble shoot issues
  • Document business requirements
  • Support the integration and development of a variety of projects
  • Work with business and IT groups through all phases of issue and problem management process
  • Communicate within the support team

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Business related field or equivalent experience/training is desirable with significant coursework or emphasis in database management and design
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations
  • Interest in optimization problem solving
  • Advanced ability to plan strategically for current and future business environments, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible solutions
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities
  • Refined skills in MS Office with a strong knowledge of MS-Access
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Outstanding analytical, communication and interpersonal skills along with a demonstrated ability to communicate technical issues and solutions in business terms to non-technical end users is required
  • Work effectively and accurately under tight deadlines with limited supervision
