The Contracts Analyst  is responsible for leading assigned supply chain management initiatives within the Purchasing group. In this role, the Contracts Analyst will negotiate, analyze, research, and prepare recommendations and associated business justifications related to supplier proposals for the supply of aircraft component and powerplant repair services, procurement of aircraft spare parts, and other goods and services as required to support an airline operation. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal customers to determine requirements, issue Requests For Proposal (RFPs), and assess viability of supplier proposals
  • Facilitate and defend departmental initiatives through several layers of required management approvals
  • Model complex issues with variable inputs and produce range of results with recommendations
  • Develop purchasing strategies with associated risk assessments and present to senior management
  • Maintain beneficial commercial relationships with assigned suppliers, develop and implement procedures consistent with contractual obligations, monitor contractual entitlements and obligations, and negotiate resolution of commercial issues, claims, or disputes
  • Perform all required functions to deliver measurable and tangible results
  • Responsible for handling, processing, and protecting confidential data while representing the company and department in a professional, ethical manner

The candidate must have experience using Excel as follows:

  • Formulas IF (several nested layers), NPV, VLOOKUP, SUMIF and COUNTIF
  • Logical formulas AND, OR, IFERROR and NOT
  • Importing CSV and other raw data sources for formatting and analysis in Excel
  • Pivot tables
  • Charts
  • Sensitivity analyses (modeling ranges of outcomes from variable inputs)
Job Requirements

In this role, the Analyst must be able to review and understand contracts, correspondence, and technical data for use in analyses.  Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and have proven ability to follow-up and complete projects. 

Position  Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or other related field 
  • Must be advanced user of PC applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with problem solving, forecasting, and advanced financial analytical skills
  • Previous negotiating experience   
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Occasional travel is required

 Position Preferences

  • Experience with aircraft components and powerplant (engine and Auxiliary Power Unit)
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Cognos
  • Previous experience with component reliability analysis
  • Previous experience with PMA (Parts Manufacturer Authority) Parts
  • Experience with contracts and other legal documents
  • Previous negotiating experience highly preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience supervising direct reports
