Position Description

This position will support customers, regional sales managers, product managers and representatives/distributors (channel) in all pre and post sale support and marketing activities. Overriding emphasis of the position is on professional customer support and customer advocacy to the rest of the organization. Plus, the position is designed to allow the individual to broadly support the Application Engineering and customer support departments with technical and sales knowledge of all PI products and services, and to provide specific and highly detailed application and customer support on the Metering products.

The primary objective is to provide across the board support to the AE and customer support groups and to also be able to provide deep technical support to the PM, regional and channel on Metering products and services.

Power Instruments views this position as a critical stepping stone on the way to higher business management positions and encourages applicants who desire to advance their careers in the longer term.

Position Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
General AE and Customer Support:
-Supports customers, regional sales managers and representatives in all pre-sale activities. Assesses potential application of company products and offers solutions that meet customer needs.
-Provides customer and field sales force support through technical knowledge of products and their use in the industry.
-Performs training for field sales force and assists with customer presentations as needed.
-Reviews technical specifications and commercial terms for compliance.
-Calculates cost based on the requirements of the customer and generates sell price in accordance with the business goals.
-Generates proposals for products and systems to include commercial terms, technical compliance, and project specific details while emphasizing the advantages of our products and how they will benefit the customer.
-Consult with design and or manufacturing engineering on highly technical problems.
-Reviews pricing, technical specifications and commercial terms on new orders. Resolves issues with customers prior to order acceptance.
-Acts as a liaison between the customer and manufacturing before orders ship.

Specific Product Support:
-Become an application expert in the Metering products attaining an extremely high level of product and application expertise.
-Support product managers on selected products and services in the area of market research. Includes analysis of the various vertical markets the selected product serve with respect to competitive analysis, market trends, market growth, regulatory activity and customer requirements. Aid in the creation and maintenance of product roadmaps and strategic sales initiatives.
-Create presentations and white papers and provide field sales support for highly technical sales presentations in support strategic selling initiatives and general sales meetings with regional sales managers and the channel.
-Support and contribute to the creation of marketing tools and literature including manuals, sales literature, application white papers and promotional literature.
-Support new product and product enhancement engineering development in the form of specification creation, participation on design review committees and alpha test of product as required.
-Provide off-load capability to the service groups as required in the form of field service trips and technical phone support.

Additional Requirements:
This position requires significant interaction with customers, sales and service personnel as well as the continuing ability for the individual to maintain an extensive understanding of the market, competitors and industry trends as they relate to the application of the products. Due to these requirements extensive travel should be expected comprising as much as 35% of working days.
