Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:
 The primary responsibility of this position is to work from verbal instructions, blueprints, sketches and complex assembly drawings, perform diversified mechanical bench or floor assembly operations to assemble intricate or larger and expensive products to close tolerances making modifications for precision fitting and aligning.
 Work closely with Engineering on new products.
 Assist Manufacturing Engineering on operation sketches on first time builds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Perform diversified mechanical bench assembly operations to build intricate, large and small
components to precise specification requirements.
 Perform assembly, rework and inspection of products processed through the majority of the assembly
stations of applicable production lines.
 Work from verbal as well as documented work instructions, spec sheets, blueprints, sketches and
complex assembly drawings.
 Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, gauging devices and test equipment to verify proper
function and operation of assemblies.
 Utilize hand tools, fixtures, pneumatic and power tools for the assembly of components.
 Come up with ways to continuously improve production processes
 Assign and stamp identification data such as part and serial numbers to components and/or
Assemblies.
 Control material flow through assembly areas.
 Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

Education / Experience:

Basic Qualifications
 High School diploma or GED equivalent
 Three years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant work environment experience.
 Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
 This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within
the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident
(i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

* - No relocation is provided for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

* - Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
* - Assembly with small parts experience

Skills and Abilities:
Position Criteria
 Requires a high degree of skill and assembling technique
 Considerable experience and knowledge of design and basic mechanical principles. 3. Exhibit sufficient understanding of the functional operation of items assembled to determine workability of the completed assemblies.
 Exhibit sufficient understanding of the key areas of the applicable production line to 5. Ability to work in an environment that is long and repetitive
 The employee maybe required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
 At least 3 years of experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements :
Production

* - Ability to lift, push and pull up to 10 lbs
* - Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours at a time
* - Must be able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time
* - Ability to use hands to manipulate parts and perform repetitive tasks with hands
