Position Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Assembler is responsible for the assembly and wiring to complete complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies by working closely with Engineering and plant management.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Wires complex electronic assemblies and sub assemblies
Wires panels, printed circuit boards and cabinets
Wires components and runs
Handles heavy components and sub assemblies
Performs electronic and mechanical assembly tasks such as: component layout, component preparations, fastening cables, wiring and soldering.
Operates tools and machinery such as: wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, cutters, terminal lug crimpers, drills
Follows all company policies including but not limited to, safety, attendance, breaks, etc.
All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

One year experience working in a similar position.

TRAVEL:

None

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret schematics, documents, procedure manuals, Ability to speak effectively with other employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Frequently required to lift and move minimum of 50 pounds, stand, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, occasionally walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to mechanical parts, inside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, moderate noise level.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Be safety conscious
Possess experience and knowledge in basic electronics
Possess excellent mechanical ability
Able to read and use measuring devices including but not limited to;
Ruler in increments of tenths and hundredths of an inch
Ruler in increments of fractions of an inch
Able to read work instructions and apply them to specific work types
Able to read supplied specification sheets and apply the data to specific work types
Able to follow verbal instructions and apply data to specific work types
