Thank you for inquiring about the opportunity to become an Aircraft Support Mechanic (ASM)- Line Maintenance. 

Job Summary: Performs various tasks using appropriate equipment to assist mechanics in non-technical functions related to aircraft interior or cargo bin component changes such as those involving slide panels, carpeting, flooring, light bulb changes, seat operational checks, commissary/catering equipment and cargo container repairs. May require other non-technical functions as developed. In this position you may also be assigned to the Move crew which is responsible for flight day aircraft movement and cosmetic care for Move Crew vehicles. Additionally, you may be assigned to utility crew operations for servicing equipment, Hazardous material handling, tool repair and calibration. You will be required to practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. 

Job Qualifications: Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Requires high school diploma or G.E.D. Must have at least six months of acceptable mechanical experience or appropriate technical training. Candidates who have graduated from high school with a vocational diploma or other diploma that includes a minimum of six (6) units of study (2-3 years) in a major vocational field will be considered. The acceptable vocational fields are: automotive, metals and electrical/electronics. To be considered based on high school vocational qualifications, candidates must provide copies of their high school transcripts listing courses, grades and credits. Must possess basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems. Must achieve a satisfactory score on tests structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions. Must meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions. Must be familiar with the use of a VHF radio and be able to multi-task and work under pressure. 

To qualify for this position, you must:

  • Have a valid driver's license 
  • Be able to pass a DOT drug test 
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
