JOB SUMMARY
This hourly, non-exempt position requires a basic knowledge of aircraft avionics and instrument systems. This includes varying amounts of parts replacement or repair, electrical troubleshooting, inspection of aircraft or systems and general avionics bench applications. Work order coordination of work flow for the project will also be a primary function. Job duties will vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Satellite Manager and Team Leader. Will be required to work independently and lead multiple projects. Will have direct customer contact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform line maintenance and troubleshooting when required on a variety or corporate aircraft.
Perform general maintenance outside of avionics systems when required by different work scopes.
Troubleshoot aircraft systems in AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations.
Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.
Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned. Schedule and work quality are essential in these functions.
Work with customer in project management, pricing and customer support roles.
Must be willing to work overtime and alternate shifts as required
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Electrical tech school.
Avionics specific training preferred.

Experience

FAA A&P License is required.

2 years minimum on-wing avionics experience desired.

Experience on corporate aircraft avionics systems is a must.

Initiative
Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace.
Able to process work with minimum supervision.
Ability to lead and provide incentive to other team members.
Able to deal directly with customer, including with areas of conflict.
Must be able to work overtime on an on-demand basis without prior notice

Responsibility
Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer oriented work habits.
Direct and adhere to the work and flow of multiple projects.
Complete all work orders, FAA paperwork, and logbook entries.

Contacts
Other technicians in avionics or other roles.
Report directly to the Satellite Manager and Team Leader.
Company sales representatives.
Customers or outside vendors.

Physical Requirements
Able to lift as least 50 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
Basic personal computer operation.

Mental Requirements
Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
Ability to troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
Ability to work with others in a professional manner.
Ability to coordinate project.

Supervision
Will directly supervise technicians.
Work with minimal supervision from leadership.
Work with other technicians on multiple projects in a cooperative manner.

Working Conditions
The majority of work will be accomplished in a heated hangar.
Work outside during aircraft runs will occur.
Varied positions in and around the aircraft.

Equipment Used
Personal hand tools supplied by the technician.
Transponder, VHF Navigation, Pitot/Static, and general electrical test equipment.
Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices.
Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
Personal computer and work order prints.
