Chipton-Ross is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer in Owego, NY.


Systems Engineering team is looking for mid-career Avionics Systems engineers to join our team. The selected individual will work as part of a dynamic Systems Engineering team supporting systems integration activities for military aircraft platforms. Activities and responsibilities will include interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines (hardware, software and specialty engineering) as well as equipment suppliers, supporting requirements definition and decomposition, developing software requirement specifications, and other design artifacts/activities for the successful integration of avionics subsystems onto fixed or rotary wing aircraft platforms. Our most current needs are for team members experienced with the following:

• Integrating weapons systems with an aircraft 
• Integrating electro optical sensors onto an aircraft
• Developing hardware-in-the-loop simulation and/or establishing a systems integration lab
• Development of functional diagrams, use cases and CONOPS 
• Defining electrical, mechanical and data interfaces


*Work experience in Integrating weapons systems with an aircraft.
*Work experience in Integrating electro optical sensors onto an aircraft 
*Work experience in Development of functional diagrams, use cases and CONOPS.
*Avionics Systems engineering experience, preferably working military programs 
*Experience with requirements derivation 
*Software requirements development, SDD, SRS, general Spec development DOORS 
*Previous Systems Engineering experience across the entire program life cycle within military aircraft / avionics architectures and associated off-board support systems.


Familiarity or experience with agile development. Ability to communicate on all levels both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to work effectively in a team environment.
