Job Summary:

The Avionics Technician is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting and repair of client aircraft and customer aircraft avionics systems. Avionics Technicians will strive to achieve high quality avionics repairs and installations in both client aircraft and customer aircraft.

Job Duties:

  • Perform all avionics service, repair and installation work in a timely and quality manner
  • Work will be distributed by the Avionics Supervisor
  • Ensure that proper procedures are used when performing avionics work
  • Read and write wiring schematics
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints
  • Research aircraft or unit technical data as appropriate
  • Solder on wires and equipment boards, fabricate and repair wire harnesses, run wire harness in aircraft, properly mount antennae’s, manage navigation and audio interconnections, and perform other basic avionics technical functions
  • Testing and troubleshooting of aircraft avionics systems
  • Fabricate and mount avionics panels in aircraft
  • Operate and utilize all test equipment in the avionics department
  • Work effectively under time constraints and pressure
  • Travel and perform avionics repairs in the field
  • Work nights and weekends when necessary to support AOG and required inspections
  • Achieve learning objectives when presented through OJT, classes, manuals, etc.
  • Completes all required records in an accurate manner and in accordance with company manuals and FAA requirements
  • Adhere to the established policies and procedures outlined in company manuals and the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s)
  • Maintains a clean and neat work area
  • Maintain and keep work environment safe

Qualifications:

  • General Aviation or Corporate experience preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years’ experience installing avionics specifically Garmin products

Basic Employment Expectations:

  • Arrive to work, clock in and be ready to perform duties at the time prescribed by the line department schedule; tardiness is considered unacceptable
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude while at work
  • Maintain a positive morale and professional communication with other staff members
  • Respect supervisors and management and be willing to take direction from superiors
  • Maintain a productive work ethic and minimize distractions
