Job Duties:

  • The Avionics Technician maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment
  • Reads and interprets manufacturer’s and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Applies technical knowledge of aircraft electrical systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment and to solve moderate-to-complex problems
  • Conducts final operational testing/troubleshooting of entire electrical, hydraulic, oxygen, pneumatic, fuel, surface, control and rigging systems and component parts installed in aircraft
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of documented experience as an Aircraft Avionics Technician through documented training and/or certification on a variety of aircraft models
  • A&P license is strongly desired, but not required
  • Requires an understanding of test consoles, test equipment and aircraft controls, and ability to determine system performance under simulated flight conditions
  • Boeing, Airbus and Embraer experience preferred
  • Individuals with military experience ideally will have some commercial or regional experience
  • Mechanic must have their own tools
