The Landing Systems business unit located in Miami Gardens, FL has a great position for a technician focused on bushing installation & hone activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing bushings installations, swaging, and light machine work (mill/lathe) on landing gear components. The position is on 2nd shift (2:30 -11:00 PM). The selected candidate may need to train on 1st shift for specified amount of time, as determined by supervision.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Install bushings, bearings, sleeves, and metal shims on all aircraft programs according to the overhaul manual specifications, using machinery and hydraulic presses.
Utilize close tolerance measuring instruments and works to ensure compliance with CMM specifications.
Operate honing machinery and devices, including mill machinery for swaging of bearings.
Execute bush bore functions utilizing light machining. (Lathe/bush work).
Perform final inspection and stocking of bushings.
Actively support site EH&S and process improvement initiatives.
Support cross-training initiatives within the site and department.
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
Qualification: 2-4 year of experience. Preferred candidates will have direct landing gear experience or experience in aircraft installation.
Strong focus on quality and quantity of work output.
Ability to interpret blueprints/overhaul manuals and adhere to requirements.
Must be proficient using close tolerance measuring instruments.
Basic computer skills
