Description

Position Overview:

Business Analyst will be an interface between technology teams, support teams, and business partners to identify and define solutions to maximize the value delivered by an organization to its stakeholders. Business Analysts work across all levels of an organization and participate in defining the goals and requirements for programs and projects or supporting continuous improvement in its technology and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, develop and facilitate the documentation of business and technical requirements
  • Work closely with Systems Analyst in IT for awareness and planning
  • Work with departments and outsourced vendor resources to ensure that business and technical requirements are accurately translated into requirement specifications and functional designs
  • Flag respective Systems Analyst on any potential cross-application impacts for proactive plans around integration
  • Ensure traceability of requirements through design & build, testing, and deployment
  • Work with business units to develop test traceability matrix back to their project requirements; ensure clarity with the business, project team and QA
  • Work with QA and impacted departments to design test suites that ensure that requirements are correctly implemented and that applicable user acceptance testing is performed
  • Lead functional departments through the documentation and gap analysis of “as is” and “to be” business processes
  • Facilitate the development of end user training materials and the adoption of new business processes
  • Area of focus would be centered around Commercial Applications
Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Four years working primarily as a business analyst or in a related role
  • Proficient in the areas of gathering and documenting requirements, developing use cases and test cases, process mapping, and developing data flow diagrams
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in multi-tasking, analytical thinking, and problem solving
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and methodology
  • Experience with implementing and supporting complex integrated applications
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and methodologies/techniques such as waterfall or agile/scrum
  • Intermediate level of competency with productivity and collaboration tools such as MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint and process mapping tools such as Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced level of competency with office productivity tools such as MS Office and process mapping tools such as Visio
  • Experience working in the airline industry with strong knowledge of airline technologies and processes
  • Direct experience producing requirements for major system upgrades or new implementations in a fast paced, operationally critical environment
  • Strong understanding of IT regulations including SOX, PCI, privacy laws, and general security practices
  • Travel industry domain experience
  • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) CBAP Certification or Project Management Institute (PMI) PBA Certification
