Responsibilities:

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

  • Supports Executive Leaders and partner with Business Planning Teams and Business Partners in the creation, tracking, and reporting of major Company plans within Southwest Airlines’ Corporate Plan
  • Proactively monitors and drives corporate alignment of assigned plans with other major Company plans in the Corporate Plan
  • Partners with Corporate Strategy to ensure that assigned plans appropriately support and fit with the established Company Strategy
  • Partners with Corporate Delivery for alignment and reporting on the progress of Delivery initiatives that support major Company plans in the Corporate Plan
  • Partners with FP&A Teammates to ensure proper inclusion of financial implications of major Company plans in the Corporate Plan
  • Partners with FP&A Teammates to support alignment of financial forecasts to major Company plans
  • Supports preparation of materials and coordination with Business Planning Teams and Corporate Delivery in preparation for regular planning reviews and forums with the Senior Executive Team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for majors in Finance, Economics, or Business
  • MBA preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience required, with a preference for experience in finance, planning, or consulting
  • Minimum of  2 years facilitating meetings and presenting to Executive-level audiences preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in deck-building / storytelling preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

  • Able to communicate (both written and verbally) effectively and concisely
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally, bringing together people with multiple points of view
  • Strong PowerPoint skills – proven experience building decks either for Executive audiences and/or in a consulting setting
  • Able to identify and synthesize key issues for focus and discussion from large quantities of information
  • Exhibits a strong knowledge of strategic and financial analysis
  • Able to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Able to understand corporate financial analysis and financial statements
  • Knowledge of Southwest Airlines’ (or comparable) business model is preferred     

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
