Role Summary:
Responsible for the oversight of the overall maintenance program for the Lafayette Engine Facility Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) shop. Works closely with technicians, inspectors and auditors both inside and outside of the organization to ensure airworthiness and compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Maintain / update Repair Station Training Program Manual

* Responsible for Training records

* Responsible for maintenance of Repair Station Roster / Employment Summaries

* Responsible to process and submit Service Difficulty Report (SDR)

* Responsible to review, process, and submit Suspected Unapproved Parts (FAA Form 8120-11)

* Responsible to ensure Repair Station has access to Airworthiness Directives and depending on depth of work and work instructions, ensures applicable AD’s are complied with

* Maintains a file of all work packages and inspection documentation in such a manner that the specific file pertaining to any engine, sub-assy. or component can be located in a timely manner

* Responsible for the Technical Library

* Works with HR Leader / DER to comply with the DFWP - Alcohol / Substance Abuse Prevention Program

* Provide back-up to MRO Quality Leader where required

* Provide back up to RTS / Conformance Leader where required

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in a technical related field (Or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a field related to maintenance, repair, and / or technical field equivalent)

* Minimum of 3 years of work experience in MRO, engine assembly or engine compliance

* Must possess a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant license

Desired Characteristics:

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* 5+ years' experience in inspecting jet engines

* Effective problem identification and solution skills

* Proven analytical and organizational ability

* Ability to work independently

* Strong problem solving skills

* Ability to use a PC

* Experience in dealing with aviation regulators and auditors

* Experience with FAA Part 65

* Prior experience returning aircraft engines back to service strongly preferred
