The CMS Development Lead will be responsible for leading design and architecture of our content management architecture, driving cross organizational and cross team solutions, and creating resilient and automated systems to empower business ownership of customer facing content. These solutions will span delta.com, virginatlantic.com, and many other site properties owned and operated by Delta. This role, reporting to the WCM Manager in Omnichannel, acts as a domain expert and will partner with peer level positions across the IT and business organization in order to build an industry best customer experience.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE:

-Leading teams and hands on implementing and designing AEM solutions associated with product/project teams work streams
-Leading team efforts, delegating tasks, following up on progress of the team and coaching junior and new team members
-Transforming business requirements into conceptual/logical application architectures
-Determining feasibility & scalability of AEM solutions, interacting with business and product owners in order to define technical solutions for customer problems
-Production issue triage, management, and prevention as needed
-Expert level development skills in AEM, Java : minimum of 4 years developing large system applications; Working knowledge and understanding of the following: JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS, angularJS
-Technical definition and implementation for analytics, error logging/tracking, and other key functional customer interactions on delta.com
-Technical debt resolutions, prevention & code reviews
-Analysis and implementation of Performance/Stability/Reliability initiatives
-Research & Development of POCs & innovative new ideas for customer interactions with Delta

AEM experience with :
-Developing applications, templates, and components in AEM 6.1 and above.
-Localization of content
-Dynamic data display modules
-Npop-ups and modals
-Enhanced social media capabilities
-Responsive web development
-Integration with latest UI frameworks like node.js, bootstrap and angularJS
-Upgrade to new AEM versions

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? / WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field. Previous airline experience ideal.
-Ability to work within an Agile model.
-Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus.
-Knowledge of Software Development - Involves knowing the general approach to developing software including practice, concepts, technology, and methodology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
-Node and NPM experience preferred
-Test Driven Development
-Quality forward development practices, with automation at forefront for continuous quality
-Performance sites focused on optimal time to interact for end consumers, and continuous focus on improvement of that
-Secure sites that adhere to best practices for information security
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level.
-Involves being widely trusted, being seen as a direct, truthful individual, can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and helpful manner, keeps confidences, admits mistakes, and doesnt misrepresent him/herself for personal gain.
-Working well in a collaborative setting, supporting work team by volunteering for and completing assignments, acting as a positive team member by contributing to discussions, developing and maintaining both formal and informal relationships enterprise-wide, defines success in terms of the entire team through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
-Demonstrating a commitment to increasing knowledge and skills in current technical/functional area, keeping up to date on technical developments, staying informed as to industry practices, knowing how to apply relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs.
-Ability to effectively write code (e.g., in one or more languages) in order to develop effective and efficient solutions to computing needs.
-Maintains a positive attitude oriented towards coming up with solutions and developing new approaches, doesn't let distractions get in the way, isnt overwhelmed with problems/ issues.
