Job description

-Responsible for providing Export Compliance leadership and support for products and data handled by Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics, USA, LLC to ensure compliance with government standards and regulations.
-Facilitating and implementing proactive export compliance solutions, maintaining classification of all Export Compliance items and data management licenses and associated recordkeeping in accordance with government standards and regulations as well as assisting in administering audit activities.
-Oversees all phases of import and export transactions, provides guidance for trade compliance regulations and policies/procedures, oversees licensing and compliance matters, and coordinates export licensing and requirements
-Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Export Compliance Coordinator
-Assignment of Schedule B and HTS classification codes
-Partnering with the responsible engineering resource/Purchasing to determine classification of ITAR or EAR items
-Determining U.S. Government license requirements including the applicability of exemptions or exceptions for proposed export/imports.
-Assisting in preparation of export/import license applications, agreements, Commodity Classification Requests (CCR), Commodity Jurisdictions, general correspondence and other forms of requests in a timely manner to satisfy export/import due dates and deadlines.
-Administrative maintenance of files and records (such as decrement of license, govt. reporting, recordkeeping, return of exhausted licenses, etc.)
-Assisting in the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive export/import compliance program consistent with corporate guidance.
-Conducting a self-assessment program and continuously monitor export/import activities.
-Ensuring compliance with approved licenses and other forms of export/import approval including segregation, shipping, imports, provisos and other forms of restrictions or prohibitions.
-Supporting investigations and give other assistance necessary to address potential or actual violations.
-Assisting in the maintenance and update of the ITAR/EAR Watchlist and product/data classification records
-Assisting customers and freight forwarders with classification requests (USML, ECCN, Schedule B, HTS)
-Development and update of applicable Export Compliance procedures, work instructions, and forms
-Other duties as required.

Additional description

-Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
-Minimum 3 years of export experience
-Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
-This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ''Green Card Holder''), Political Asylee, or Refugee
