The Composite Technician reports directly to the Structures Manager and performs tasks assigned by the Lead Technician.

Job Duties: 

 

Under moderate supervision, perform one or more of the following composite part manufacturing functions: lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair, in a production environment. Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team oriented work environment. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations. Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection. Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations. Support Lean activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 
 

  • High School Diploma/GED.  Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Minimum of 2 years aircraft-related composite repair experience required.
  • Current FAA Airframe License preferred.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Working Conditions:
Requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.  Must be able to lift and/or pull objects weighing at least 50 lbs.  May be required to work 8 or 10 shifts, both day and night shifts.  May be required to work rotating schedules, including holidays, weekends and overtime.
