Job Description

Overview:
BR&T (Boeing Research and Development) is looking for an experienced engineer to add to the St. Louis Composites Team supporting the 777X. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate shall have experience with composite materials and fabrication processing. 
  • Material familiarization shall include carbon and fiberglass reinforced epoxies and adhesives. 
  • Fabrication knowledge shall include hand layup, vacuum bagging, and autoclave/oven curing. 
  • Familiarization with potential automated fabrication techniques is preferred. 
  • Familiarization with fabrication work orders and BAC and BMS specifications preferred. 
  • Existing Boeing commercial aircraft drawing approval authority and/or qualification authority preferred.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Experience dealing with composite fabrication.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Process Specs.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) Process Specs.
  • Experience with Drawing Approval.
  • Experience with composite part qualifications.
  • BCA Drawing Review Approval.
  • BCA Composite Qualification Approval.

 

Typical Education/Experience:
Level 2:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
