The Crestview Aerospace Controller is responsible for overseeing all the aspects of the Division’s financial controls and processes and works directly for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Crestview Aerospace. This critical role oversees a team of individuals that ensures the Division complies with all L3 Corporate Accounting Policies and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting requirements as well as improving and maintaining an effective internal control structure within the Division.

The Controller supports the Division CFO and senior management team by providing subject matter expertise on financial statements and accounting matters, internal controls and providing timely and thoughtful analytical analysis to provide insight into operations. The successful Division Controller will have prior Controller experience with a successful track record of managing teams to drive process improvements.

Further, success in this role is highly dependent upon strong communication skills and the ability to work across numerous functions to build strong working relationships and gain buy-in to initiatives. Also, the ability to manage a team in a fast paced environment with conflicting deadlines is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Financial Statements/Management – ensure integrity of actual reported results

*

Oversees the monthly accounting closing process

*

Reviews/Prepares external financial reporting and Corporate reporting requirements on a quarterly and annual basis

*

Primary Division contact and liaison with the external auditors (e.g., DCAA/DCMA, SOX and 3rd Party)

*

Reviews balance sheet accounts and reviews account reconciliations

*

Participates in the preparation of budgets and rates; active team member in establishing rate structure within the system

*

Reviews and approves journal entries

*

Ensures that adequate supporting records are maintained for financial statements

*

Manages monthly and quarterly financial statement analytical analysis to ensure balances are properly stated

*

Prepares and maintains complete set of Division accounting policies in line with L3 Corporate policies

*

Responsible for maintaining an effective internal control environment and continuous improvement of processes and internal controls

*

Ensures accuracy of all financial reports distributed to management and outside parties

*

Assists preparation of annual budgeting process including monthly expense and capital budgets by department

*

Establishes accounting policies and procedures, communicates established policies to employees and ensures compliance

*

Participates with senior management in establishing corporate strategic plans and objectives in the areas of finance and accounting

Qualifications

*

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with minimum 13 years of experience, OR related Master’s degree with minimum of 11 years of experience. CPA or CMA a plus

*

Experience involving aircraft OEM and support services, aero structures and associated services; and/or comprehensive aircraft (fixed/rotary wing) aftermarket services, preferred

*

Experience supporting senior leaders with accurate, timely financial information

*

Strong leadership skills and willingness to embrace change

*

Experience building, leading, and mentoring a high performance financial team

*

Interfaces effectively with a wide range of customers, government and industry leaders

*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*

Ability to develop, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate business partners and provides service excellence for all finance functions

*

Strong attention to detail and highly proficient with the Microsoft Excel

*

Hands-on, Self-Starter with ability to multi-task and work effectively across departments and with internal and external customers

*

Experience with an ERP system with SAP preferred

*

Strong professional independence and uncompromising professional ethics and integrity

*

Must be able to work overtime, weekends and any shift as required

*

Some travel will be required

Physical Requirements: Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 50 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
