Position Summary 

The Coordinator, Materials C-Check is responsible for the on-site material support of aircraft during heavy maintenance visits.The Coordinator works along with JetBlue Engineering, Quality Assurance and Maintenance Technical Representative on any issues that occur during heavy maintenance service and reviews the work performed and billed to JetBlue.This position also handles materiel logistics issues, manages customer owned inventory, maintains inventory accuracy and strategically plans all materiel requirements for future maintenance visits. 

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Monitors and manages any materiel requirement in support of the heavy maintenanceoperations 

  • Files warranty claims in an effort to reclaim monies spent on aircraft repairs                                                      

  • Reviews invoices to check reasonableness of fees charged on repairs or parts purchases and researches discrepancies                 

  • Coordinates material purchases with authorized purchasing personnel as required and manages the repair cycle of removed components 

  • Assists in the review of the heavy maintenance repair and material supportagreements  

  • Generates reports for leadership to track costs, cost avoidances, and cost savings 

  • All other duties as assigned                                                                                     

Minimum Experience and Qualifications  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma 

  • Two (2) years’ experience working in an aircraft maintenance or materials environment   

  • Valid Hazmat Certified or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date 

  • Valid Receiving Inspection Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date 

  • Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent travel documents to travel freely in and out of all JetBlue destinations 

 

  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards  

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 

  • Working knowledge of inventory management 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously  

  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision[Field][Field] 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation, engineering, business, or related discipline 

  • One (1) years purchasing experience  

  • One (1) years financial analyst experience  

  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel 

  • Working knowledge of airline maintenance programs  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Excellent analytical skills  

  • Strong typing skills 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Flexibility and agility skills 

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. 

Crewmember Expectations:  

 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality  

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 

  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft 

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity,  Passion, and Fun 

Equipment:  

  • Computer and other office equipment 

Work Environment:  

  • The normal working environment is on location at partner heavy maintenance facilities with possible travel required to component repair shops, the flight line, or the warehouse. 

  • Monthly work schedule averages 21 days traveling and 9 days home 

  • The out of office working environment may present elevated noise levels and weather variations. 

  • 95% business travel 

Physical Effort:  

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.  (Light)
