Job Description

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking qualified candidates for a Crew Scheduler at our Corporate Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Purpose of Position:

A Crew Scheduler works in the Flight Center office with the Flight Dispatchers using computers, and many different software programs. A 40-hour workweek with shift work is standard. Many times, the crew scheduler is working on a deadline especially when the monthly schedule is due, or an ASAP trips arises requiring crew assignments. They must make rapid decisions concerning safety, regulations, and economy of operations. This employee is surrounded by people, printers, and telephones in a noisy, busy atmosphere.

Position Summary:

  • Coordinate the timely receipt of full managed crew monthly schedules and input data into the appropriate logs.
  • Create and maintain pilots' monthly schedule.
  • Assign pilots to trips on a daily basis ensuring compliance with relevant FAR's.
  • Check and notify all crews of their night currency status.
  • Track utilization of each pilot for the Chief Pilots office.
  • Coordinate Contract flight attendants for charter trips & owner trips.
  • Pilot duty tracking and reporting: verify if deviation reports are required; verify that pilots
    do not exceed FAR limitations for number of hours allowed to fly.
  • Oversee crew duty reports based on FAR Part 135.
  • Coordinate contract pilots for 91 trips.
  • Contacting Billing Specialist with any non-standard billing issues.
  • Monitoring currency of pilots.
  • Oversee daily crewing of pilots to ensure maximum utilization and cost effectiveness.
  • Coordinate pilots for augmented crews for FAR 135 flights.
  • Pro-actively coordinate pilot vacation and training needs with the Owner Service Department.
  • Assist in the input and research of flight/service deviations per the company's deviation management process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Be an excellent team player and have strong communication, computer and math skills.
  • Communication, customer service skills and organization skills.
  • The ability to understand complex relationships while working under pressure is essential.
  • Good understanding of FAR's related to part 91 and 135 flights.
  • An aviation background is preferred.
  • FAA dispatch license required. If candidate does not have a FAA dispatch license at time of hiring, candidate will be required to obtain this license within sixmonths of hire date in order to retain the position.
  • Operational Control required. If hired, Candidate will be expected to display and perform the skills necessary to obtain Operational Control and be required to pass an evaluation within twelve months of hire date in order to retain the position.
