General Summary

The Crew Scheduler will coordinate, communicate and modify daily flight crew schedules to assure efficient manning and crew legality. 

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support a safe and on-time operational schedule under the guidelines provided by Part 117 and Part 121 Federal Regulations, Collective Bargaining Agreements and Company directives.
  • Assign all open flying to legal crewmembers, resolve daily and monthly legality conflicts, adjust reserve coverage levels; reschedule or reassign crews to flights based on direction from the Crew Scheduling Supervisor, Crew Planner or Sr. Manager.
  • Interact with Flight Operation, Inflight Services and crewmembers to communicate scheduling requirements: monitor crewmember check-ins to assure on-time flight departures and notify appropriate departments of crew attendance issues.
  • Advise all crewmembers of any schedule assignments or reassignments; arrange down-line accommodations and book unscheduled crew positioning.
  • Schedule flight crews in accordance with Federal Regulations and Company Flight Operations Manuals; Check daily crew assignments and reschedule crews to provide coverage as needed; ensure that flight crew duty hours are maintained within legal limits as determined by FAA Regulations.
  • Provide professional and respectful customer service to all internal and external customers; works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of Silver Airways; correctly and courteously handles all incoming calls relating to crew scheduling.
  • Maintains record for sick calls, personal absences, late and crew no shows.
  • Perform tasks listed on daily and monthly checklists as directed; efficiently and correctly utilizes CrewTrac to process crew assignments.    

 

Desired knowledge skills and abilities.

  • Must be extremely flexible and able to work any shift in a 24/7 operations center environment, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be self-motivating and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have and maintain a professional appearance. Excellent attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems including CrewTrac, Sabre, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and  Outlook required.
  • Must be able to read, understand and apply Part 117 and Part 121 Federal Regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately to all levels of the organization.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship; must be able to pass a Drug and  Alcohol Screen as well as a FBI Fingerprint & Criminal history background check.
  • Must have a college degree or comparable operations experience.
  • Previous crew scheduling experience preferred.
