The Critical Systems Performance Architect will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation plan for all five aspects of IT System Performance Engineering (Performance testing / validation, capacity planning, infrastructure / application performance management, problem detection and resolution, software lifecycle / architecture) for Critical UTAS Business systems. This includes the assessment of APM tools, standardization of PE processes, and building a COE around ensuring optimal performance of all UTAS Critical Business systems.
This role will require strong cross-department collaboration with architects, application leads, infrastructure tower owners, and software / hardware developers. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success in driving technical issues and decisions at the organizational level. Additionally, the ability to communicate status, issues and options with management will be essential in this role.
Build a standard systems performance reporting, alerting / response, and triaging methodology
Meeting with industry experts to assess solutions and best practices
Reporting on progress of program to management
Provide budgetary, resource, and project proposals / requirements to management
Provide system performance monthly reports and analysis to stakeholders
Qualifications 7-10 years of experience in an IT systems administration role, with knowledge about IT networks, servers, storage, databases, PCs, and applications architecture, with in depth understanding of OSI model
Knowledge of ITIL and or Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies
Knowledge of systems performance management (monitoring, alerting, triaging) methodologies and tools
Strong writing, and verbal communication skills
Strong Analytical thinking, strategic leadership, customer focus, team leadership, and innovation skills
Strong technical project management skills
Education Required Bachelor degree
Preferred Bachelor degree Information technologies or related field
