Delta Flight Products is seeking a qualified individual with an extensive background in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Inspection and Safety to lead a diverse group of direct reports with a broad scope of responsibility in a complex technical environment. The position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and quality organization/function to ensure that the products and services delivered meet established standards as set forth in the applicable government regulations and company standards.
This position will be our direct and primary interface to the FAA MIDO for all manufacturing, PMA for all manufacturing, PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority), and ultimately ODA (Organization Designation Authority) grant to DFP by the FAA. That, combined with oversight of both manufacturing and receiving inspection and all audit activity seems to place this beyond what may currently exist in the organization, as well as all EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) responsibility. 
In addition, this position will require the ability to work effectively at all levels of the business. 

Primary Functions

Responsible for the coordination and overall safety, administration, and operations for the Inspection and Quality department and compliance with Company procedures.
Develops and maintains a receiving inspection system that ensures incoming materials, parts and components are inspected for quantity, quality, conformity to approved data, state of preservation, and are received from an approved source
Utilize statistical control methods to develop regular reporting of quality metrics, for items such as first pass acceptance and process control.
Ensure proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the Company are properly executed.
Direct the activities of the inspection department ensuring that all inspections and tests are properly performed on all products produced or repaired.
Ensure control over materials, facilities, products and services in which the Company is engaged, and oversee the audit of such practices to the established requirements.
Work proactively with all departments to identify root cause of quality escapes and assist in the development of effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Exercises routine interface with FAA Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO) on inspection and quality issues.
Supports and achieves world-class business practices by seeking and implementing continuous improvement process initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma.
Lead and manage activities related to gaining industry recognized certification for the Company processes, including ISO-9001/AS9100.
Ensures inspectors and persons designated inspection authority are adequately trained and qualified.
Ensures compliance with FAA regulations and Company manuals and specifications for all quality functions.
Implement, manage, and audit compliance with all Company and regulatory requirements related to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
Manages the budget development process for Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments and implements budget restraints to meet projected targets.
Leads through demonstration of the Company core values, and communicates a compelling view of the organization's purpose and value in a way that helps others understand the importance and impact of their contributions.
Works with team members to develop specific behaviors, skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities.
Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment that results in employee safety and well-being.



Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical, operations or business discipline; or equivalent work experience in a related field may be substituted.
Ten (10) years of aviation experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing or aircraft repair/modification; and three (5) of which in a lead or supervisory role.
Organized, self-starting, detail-oriented and an effective planner and project manager.
Effective leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
Willing to travel (approx. 15%) to support required quality and audit activity.

Preferred / Highly Desirable:

Quality assurance and control experience, and knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and certification requirements.
Experience with fabrication methods and practices of structural, composite and electrical parts and components.
Direct experience working with FAA MIDO and/or FSDO or similar government oversight groups.
Understanding of 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, & 145 (especially in areas of STC's, TSO's and PMA) and working knowledge of Part 121 operation.
Knowledgeable in ISO, AS9100, Six Sigma, 5S or other specific quality systems.
Strong knowledge and experience with continuous improvement methods.
Knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance, housekeeping and shop practices.
Excellent computer skills and be proficient with MS Office applications.
