Our Danbury CT site is seeking a DEPARTMENTMANAGER of OPERATIONS. You will provide leadership and oversight of all activities in the Operations Organization. The site is approximately 533,000 sf and operates 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. You will be expected to provide the vision, organizational structure, business processes and work instructions to support compliance and customer satisfaction through effective program execution.
The position requires managing:
* 6 Managers and their respective staffs in Security, Facilities, EH&S, Material Planning and Production, Electronic Manufacturing and Assembly, Environmental Testing, and Optical manufacturing
* Effective teamwork across functional groups
* Expense budgets
* EHS/Customer Property/ITC goals and compliance
* Capital planning and management
* Business and manufacturing processes and work instruction development
* Continuous improvement initiatives
* Site business continuity
The position requires both site and business unit cross functional collaboration in support of goals and objectives.
10-15 years of progressively increasing responsibility of operations / manufacturing, facilities, security and EHS management experience, ideally in an aerospace environment.
Strong technical background with strong management skills.
Good understanding of assembly, production planning and logistics, lean manufacturing and awareness of environmental, health and safety laws and requirements.
Excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization
Ability to influence and motivate in a matrix organization.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and uphold the highest ethical standards.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
US CITIZEN ONLY
BS/BA Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace,) or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
