Program Developers design and develop training programs using Instructional Systems Design principles in support of the American Airlines' maintenance training program. They work collaboratively with training management, customers, instructional staff and subject matter experts to understand customer training needs and create effective, skills based training solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Perform training needs assessments and analyze results to determine training needs and performance gaps

* Work collaboratively with a diverse team (department managers and supervisors, customer representatives, subject matter experts, instructional staff, program developers) to research, design, develop and implement effective training solutions

* Establish relationships with key business customers and stakeholders

* Deliver customer focused products and services

* Take ownership of assigned projects and do what is necessary to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards

* Provide timely status updates and reports on assigned projects and organizational performance to supervisor

* Lead and motivate employees working as a team

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred in instructional systems design, training/curriculum development, education, organizational development or a related field

* Three or more years’ curriculum development experience

* Practical experience using ISO principles and the ADDIE process to include adult learning theories, interactive training and learning design and e-learning design principles

* Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) related to packaging and uploading training content

* Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, Photoshop and other Adobe products

* ASTD CPLP certification preferred

* Proven interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together

* Working knowledge of FM, OSHA, EPA and other governmental regulations pertaining to training

* Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities and projects

* Previous project management experience preferred

* FM Airframe and Powerplant certificate preferred

* Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language

* Some travel is required

* When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends

* Proficient in MS Office, Macromedia and Adobe products

* Must fulfill FM criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
