The Digital Content team enhances our customers’ web and mobile web experience by delivering clear and concise content on our global customer facing websites.
Our ideal Digital Copywriter:

  • Is passionate about words
  • Finds no shame in issuing grammar citations on social media
  • Takes personal pride in expertly crafted content
  • Excels at real word games like Scrabble and Boggle
  • Is well-versed in how (and how not) to write for the web
  • Most importantly – the perfect candidate is able to deliver creative solutions based on analytics and the needs of our customers. When necessary, they aren’t afraid to take a stand to ensure aa.com has the best content in the industry.

What you’ll do

  • Create compelling content for American Airlines customer facing websites with clear messages and structure
  • Engage contributors to re-write existing copy to meet our web standards
  • Break policy-heavy content down into content that’s easy to understand
  • Maintain our tone of voice across our site
  • Work closely with international teams to deliver global content
  • Follow SEO and Accessibility best practices
  • Use web analytics to evaluate what works and what doesn’t
  • Work in a CMS using pre-defined templates

Job Qualifications

What you need

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or English is required
  • A minimum 3 years web writing experience for a major brand with a high traffic website
  • Knowledge and understanding of web principles such as SEO, Accessibility, Analytics and Information Architecture
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to clearly express ideas and overcome objections
  • All other standard job requirements like the ability to work quickly and efficiently, on a team and individually, etc.

Makes you stand out

  • Working knowledge of content strategy
  • Experience working with a content management system
  • Project management experience within a marketing or digital environment
  • Bilingual, a plus, not necessary
  • Travel industry experience desired but not required
