Director Assistant Treasurer & Fuel

Position Summary

The Assistant Treasurer role will lead an analytical team who manages the company’s $9B balance sheet including; debt origination and management, cash investments, liquidity forecasting, fuel procurement and hedging. The Director Assistant Treasurer is a strategic thinker who is passionate about developing crewmembers to execute and deliver results.

The Director Assistant Treasurer & Fuel is a key member of the Corporate Finance team that is dedicated to the execution of financing and cash management in support of the corporate strategy. The Director is an influential leader who is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and is skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels. The Director is motivated by holding primary accountability for high-profile projects, can perform well under stress and time constraints, and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun.

Essential Responsibilities

* Lead, develop and mentor a team of analytical and high potential crewmembers
* Oversee day-to-day cash management and investments to achieve optimal results
* Analyze, assess and provide optimal capital structure recommendations to leadership
* Raise available cash through capital markets, bank loans and municipal bonds to fund aircraft deliveries and corporate real estate facilities
* Execute share-buy- back analysis, documentation and programs
* Build, manage and maintain relationships with banks, fuel suppliers and rating agencies
* Lead enterprise-wide fuel purchasing and ensure supply surety
* Act as a pro-active trusted thought partner to the finance leadership team
* Execute the fuel hedging strategy to minimize risk and exposure
* Partner with Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations on quarterly and annual financial close and earnings calls
* Assist Financial Planning & Analysis and the Fleet Strategy team in maintaining the long term financial forecast
* Adhere to all policies resulting in internal and external audit controls being met
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or related field
* Seven (7) years of finance and/or analytical experience
* Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite
* Exceptional analytical and presentation skills
* Strong record of successful negotiations
* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent written and verbal communication including interactions with executive leadership
* Available for occasional overnight travel (15%)
* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
* Previous aviation or treasury experience

Crewmember Expectations

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
* Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
* Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
* Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
* Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
