Summary/Objective: Primary role: Leadership position within Maintenance Operations Departments that will work with the other teams to optimize decisions with both a financial and operational perspective. Focus on developing strategic initiatives by working with the various disciplines within Maintenance. Work closely with senior leaders of Maintenance on managing aircraft fleet decisions including leases, in-service and return conditions. Essential Functions:
Control and monitoring of the daily system wide maintenance operation. Identification and analysis of maintenance problems and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
Manage current maintenance contracts looking to ensure effective business management of contract. Participation in selection of contract agencies for aircraft, , and out sourced vendor maintenance.
Manage RFP’s process for maintenance functions when appropriate.
Identify future projects and processes and work with leadership team to evaluate and implement.
Manage technical operations responsibilities with respect to fleet decisions. Review and provide input to aircraft leases. Identify future costs with respect to lease extensions. Manage business aspect of aircraft into service and return conditions.
Develop maintenance staffing models based on future level of operations.
Direction of maintenance planning and RON workload scheduling.
Work with leadership team to identify reliability projects and evaluate cost effectiveness.
Work with leadership team looking for process improvements within Maintenance. Challenge current process and identify opportunities for senior leadership of Maintenance.
Work with Finance on updating forecasting models.
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise department managers in production, planning, outstations, and maintenance control. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time. You are required to be on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week or as needed to fulfill MN Airlines d/b/a Sun Country Airlines operational needs.
Required Education and Experience:
4 year degree in finance/ aviation business and minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance department with an airline operating large transport aircraft or equivalent combination of experience and education
Airframe and Powerplant license required
Must have Supervisory / Management experience
Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent data analysis skills
Demonstrates strong leadership skills both in direct people management and in cross-functional teams
Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines
Pass all federally mandated drug and criminal history mandated requirements
