Job Description

Wire Harness Design and Installation Engineers (Early Career) develop and maintain basic satellite product cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs for satellite product lines.Candidate will be supporting The Boeing Company's Satellite Capabilities organization and multiple satellite product lines based in Los Angeles. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., payload, electronic products and power sources, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Supports the development of statements of work.
  • Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Follows design guides to select materials (e.g., wire types, sleeving, shielding) and parts (e.g., connectors, terminal blocks, splices), creating parts lists, and drafting wire diagrams.
  • Assists in diagnosing and responding to customers' issues.
  • Supports product and process improvements (e.g., standardization, producibility, reliability, maintainability, affordability) using electrical design/engineering principles (e.g., load analysis, fault isolation, materials compatibility, thermal analysis).

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Experience with CAD tools and 3D modeling
  •

Typical Education / Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. 

This position is contingent upon program award.
