SR & Space Systems Windsor Locks is looking for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its Engineering Organization

This position requires an individual with experience performing components engineering tasks for high‑reliability space programs and the technical experience to perform component-level and circuit-level radiation effects analyses. You will be an important member of the electrical products design team. Your contributions to the team and specific duties will include:

* Reviewing the Customers’ requirements regarding Electrical Component Quality, Product Assurance, Reliability and the equipment’s operating environments including the Radiation environments (Total Dose and Single Event Effects).
* Translating and communicating the requirements to the Electrical Designers, Supplier Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Electrical Manufacturing Engineering.
* Managing the Preliminary Electrical Parts List and supporting the Supply Chain so electrical parts may be procured as soon as possible.

* Preparing component procurement specifications, drawings and Statements of Work (SOW) for Custom devices.
* Preparing test plans and procedures for Heavy Ion testing and Proton testing.
* Interpreting Radiation Lab test results, data reduction and generating formal test reports.
* Reviewing supplier quotes for adequacy.
* Responding to Component Manufacturer’s Requests for Information.
* Identifying Alternate Components to mitigate schedule problems associated with Component Leadtimes and to mitigate component obsolescence.
* Reviewing and Assessing GIDEP Alerts for potential impacts.
* Preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to the Customer’s Parts Control Board (PCB)
* Occasional travel to Suppliers and Test Labs will be required.

Qualification: Radiation Effects Analysis including Single Event Upsets and burnout Knowledge of Radiation effects and Single events on non-volatile memory devices Component Engineering for NASA or Military programs (development through flight) High-reliability (Mil-class S,V and K) electrical parts control requirements (selection, qualification, traceability, inspection) Component Failure Analysis processes, including hands-on experience with test equipment. Military specifications and Military part numbers Establish requirements for Component Procurement Specifications Failure Analysis techniques and use of FA lab equipment Obsolescence Analysis – proactive health monitoring and reactive identification of alternates Components’ construction, manufacturing processes and failure modes and mechanisms Provide accurate written and verbal direction to design & procurement team members Electrical Component derating practices Knowledge and understanding of Magnetics i.e. Inductors and Transformers.

Education: Bachelors degree required with 6-10 years of experience
