The Electronic Technician position supports tasking at the Naval Air Warfare Division in China Lake, CA. The selected candidate will provide spectrum monitor support to ensure ambient electromagnetic environment is acceptable for trials; collect measurements to verify that various transmitters are operating within performance parameters; and perform measurements using a specialized spectrum analyzer based on lab view data acquisition programs. Other duties include measuring FRO transmitters, including shipboard, to determine safe distances between transmitters and personnel and preparing technical documentation for various projects. The position involves regular interface with customers, contractor associates and government personnel.
Education/Experience: Associates Degree, with a minimum of 1 year of experience is required, or 3 years of experience commiserate with the requirements of this position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must be able to set up and tear down of test equipment to support specified tests. A valid driver's license and the ability to work extended hours is required. Candidate must be able to lift 30-40 lbs, work on ladders and around noisy equipment in a hazardous/stressful or environmentally harsh environment. The candidate must be well organized, demonstrate attention to detail, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
