CDG is currently looking for two employees to join our growing MxE (Maintenance Engineering) team in our SoCal offices. Selected candidates will have to independently create, develop, and produce complex two and three-dimensional illustrations for AMM/CMM/ SRM & SB. Apply knowledge of conventional drawing and computer-generated illustration techniques and layout.
Qualified candidates must have:
•Two or more years of illustration or computer-aided design experience, including publication-related experience, or other demonstrated work experience equal to the level of responsibility.
•Knowledge of applicable computer graphic software and conventional illustration techniques.
•Ability to interpret engineering data and blueprints and related technical information.
•Flexibility and ability to adapt to improvements in technology, and participate as an active team member.
•Excellent research skills.
•Good leadership and people skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Be able to use interpersonal skills to be proactive and create a productive teaming environment
•Positions require strong PC and MS Office skills.
•Be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
•Experience in BOGART, knowledge of ISODRAW and IVT is a plus.
SOW responsibilities include but not necessarily limited to:
•Design and produce complex, original, two and three dimensional illustrations by coordinating with Authors; analyzing engineering data and related technical information; compiling and incorporating design criteria from sketches, noted layouts, photographs and mark-ups; applying illustration techniques such as axonometric, trimetric, or perspective to create original technical illustrations.
•Work closely with the Author for assigned projects to ensure adequate resource data is provided to meet quality, cost and schedule requirements.
•Produce preliminary freehand sketches when appropriate. Conduct engineering analyses to verify the accuracy of maintenance/repair data.
•Communicate in a timely manner issues and concerns to the CDG Illustration Lead/Program Manager for immediate resolution. Ensure quality, cost and schedules are adhered to.
•To make sure that all Illustrations comply with the correct format/specification and technical content.
•To keep the Illustration Lead/Program Manager informed of the progress and any problems arising from a work assignment.
