Job description

Safran Aerospace Composites (SAC) is a subsidiary of Safran Aircraft Engines responsible for the manufacturing of composites parts for Safran's LEAP engine. As part of the Rochester team, you will working on the manufacturing of 3D woven composite fan blades and fan cases for the LEAP engine.

This position will support projects linked to data acquisition and data analysis. This role encompasses the overall collection and analysis of production information, while using that data to help to improve the efficiency, productivity, and capability of the business. This position will work with direction provided by the engineering team and plant management. In this role, you will develop best practices for data management and reporting that will drive timely and accurate engineering decisions. This position will also provide hands on manufacturing support, write work instructions, train operators, and manage projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities and Essential Functions
1 .Ensure seamless data collection and storage
2 .Support complex data mapping
3. Develop efficient and useful reporting tools
4. Maintain accuracy of data with high level of detail, implementing corrective actions as required
5. Maintain system efficiency, propose improvements, and monitor technology developments
6. Initiate new data collection streams with guidance from the engineering team to determine parameters or processes
to monitor
7. Generate manufacturing data reports to support immediate feedback to the operators and generation of Quality
8. Monitor production to detect and prevent process drifts
9. Analyze manufacturing data to assess capability and determine opportunities for process improvements.
10. Support SPC administration, data collection and analysis
11.Provide data or documentation and make technical presentations to management
12. Apply statistical methodology to complex data
13. Perform mathematical modeling in support of production project
14. Support the effort to make pertinent data visible throughout the manufacturing facility
15. Perform internal audits to validate the quality and usability of the data
16. Perform engineering database administration, maintenance and updates
17. Apply statistical methodology to complex data
18. Interact with engineering team and international team of data engineers to ensure alignment of data collection,
analysis, and reporting amongst three facilities
19. Propose, lead, and participate in data driven projects utilizing DMAIC and DMADV principles
20. Manage urgent work deadlines and high profile deliverables in an efficient manner
21.Develop training material and facilitate training sessions as warranted
22. Identify opportunities for process improvement while coordinating and implementing automated solutions
23. Other duties as assigned

Travel specifictity

Must be available for international travel no more than 10 percent of the time

Candidate skills & requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant technical degree
including a strong statistical background;
2. Strong IT skills database management systems knowledge; ability to specify software developments
3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SQL NET Programming, and Python required
4. Understanding of GD T preferred
5. Requires a strict attention to detail
6 .Understanding LEAN manufacturing concepts and or 6 Sigma techniques preferred
7. Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization required
9. Good project management skills
10. Experience with lean manufacturing and or 6 Sigma techniques
11. Excellent verbal and written skills
12. Ability to read and interpret blueprints is preferred
13. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
14. Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards.
15 Must be able to work effectively individually and as part of a team
16. Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the current master data environment including systems, policies,
processes, and procedures
