Position Expectations 

 

Position Title: Engineer IT Quality COE

 

Position Summary

The Engineer IT Quality COE develops and executes Performance/Load test plans for internal and external systems in accordance with the Software Development Methodology. The Senior Engineer Quality Assurance is primarily responsible for creating performance test script using load testing tool like LoadRunner, executing these tests and communicating the results. The Senior Performance Engineer is responsible for signing off on the software release to assure that it complies with the pre-defined Quality Expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Developing Performance Test Plans, Document Test Cases and make time estimates in accordance with the requirements or Test Scenarios

  • Develop and execute complex performance testing scripts which stress the Application under test

  • Report test results, defects, performing data trending analysis and coordinating Triage Meetings.

  • Work closely with development on tuning and optimization of application code and hardware optimization.

  • Using Quality Center to Track requirements, Test Cases, Scenarios, Defects, establishing traceability, maintaining the records of Quality Controls required for compliance and certifying Software for release to production

  • Evaluate, document and communicate performance risk to project team and Center of Excellence (CoE) leadership

  • Perform peer code review written by performance engineer team.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or relevant area

  • Four (4) years’ experience as a developer or in creating performance scripts

  • Prior experience working with SAP

  • Experience in Performance testing with a tool like HP LoadRunner

  • Experience in C computer language, VB Script and other programming languages

  • Knowledge of Testing windows desktop, web applications, web services and interface

  • Ability to interpret Server Key Performance Indictors and find infrastructure bottlenecks

  • Experience in using Test Management Software

  • Excellent Analytical Skills

  • Strong Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle, Quality Assurance methodologies

  • Understanding of Microsoft Technologies (.NET, SQL Server, Web Services)

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

 Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or relevant area

  • Five (5) years of performance experience with LR Certification

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, Firewalls, Networking theory and server environments

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio

  • Strong Interpersonal skills

  • Focused and driven to excellence to ensure quality of deliverables

  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate and escalate issues and risks as necessary

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills

  • Positive, upbeat energy and strong team player

  • Excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills

  • Excellent customer service and an understanding of how IT is ultimately delivered to the Customer

 Working Conditions:

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

  • Computer and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment

Physical Effort:
