Job Description

The Engineer-Systems is responsible to the Manager-Engineering for developing and implementing modifications for aircraft and components to improve performance and reliability.  To develop repairs for aircraft and components to reduce cost and turn time of aircraft. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop repair schemes and modifications for aircraft and/or components indicated in SP657.
  • Review, develop and modify individual aircraft and inspection programs to improve safety, reliability and maintainability.
  • Evaluate aircraft and component SBs to determine ExpressJet compliance requirements and benefits.
  • Establish in-house capabilities to maintain repair or overhaul aircraft, components, accessories and/or equipment operated by ExpressJet.
  • Assist in troubleshooting unusual or recurring problems with aircraft, engines and components.
  • Assist in monitoring reliability of aircraft, engines, components or accessories and in the development of corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop solutions for Reliability Program alerts as indicated in SP639.
  • CAT II duties as indicated in SP700 (Avionics/Electrical Engineer).
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager-Engineering.
Requirements

Required:

  • Mechanical, Structural, Aeronautical Degree or A&P License with equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in MS office products (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint).
  • A self-starter with demonstrated capability to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in development of complex engineering solutions and implement across multiple departments.
  • Working knowledge and function of structural engineering.

Desired:

  • Advance Engineering Degree.
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Four years experience on transport aircraft.
