For more information, visit the B/E Aerospace website at javascript:void(0);. Our Lenexa facility specializes the production of Oxygen Life Support Systems and Galley Inserts Beverage Maker Products. Our Oxygen and Beverage Maker small parts assembly manufacturing, focuses on safety and quality products production into the field for aircraft crew and passengers. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Engineering Lab Technician in our Beverage Maker Products Systems business located in Lenexa, Kansas. JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Safety & Reliability Engineering Manager, the Engineering Lab Technician primary responsibility will be to set up and conduct testing on products and components, which may include analog, digital and/or logic systems that are used on various aerospace vehicles, while being subjected to environmental stresses (e.g., temperature, humidity, vacuum, vibration, etc.). These activities also include calibrating and troubleshooting products and components. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for developing code and script automation frameworks, test suites, and tools to aid in conducting product performance testing. * Responsible for developing schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts and plans to perform qualification and reliability testing. * Responsible for modification/fabrication of test setups and assembly of specialized test fixtures/setups. * Responsible for conducting reliability tests on electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical devices in accordance with defined test procedures. * Responsible for setting up instrumentation for control and data acquisition of test equipment and products. * Provide assistance in the repair and preventative maintenance of laboratory test equipment and will be working in an environment of continuous improvement. * Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. * Ability to write clear, accurate, and complete test reports. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology. * Minimum of 3 years in product design and/or laboratory testing. * Knowledge of LabVIEW programming. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * Capable of basic prototype/fixture fabrication. * Knowledge concerning the operation of automated and programmable equipment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology. * Familiarity and experience operating various types of standard lab equipment that includes multi-meters, oscilloscope, power supplies, soldering equipment, environmental chambers, and data loggers * Coursework in statistics, experimental methods, product design and/or machine design. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as test procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. * While performing the duties, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or equipment. The noise level is usually quiet in the office environments but can be louder in the test labs like the vibration test areas, so hearing protection shall be needed.
  • While performing the lab technician job duties, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
