Astronics Ballard Technology (Ballard) in Everett, Washington is a wholly owned division of Astronics Corporation (ATRO). Ballard is a leader in the development and manufacture of electronic hardware and software for aerospace, industrial, and commercial applications. Ballard began supplying avionics databus interfaces to the aerospace industry in 1986, and was one of the first to realize the potential in using standard computers as the host for specialized test equipment.
That spirit of innovation is clearly visible today in Ballard's advanced board, box, and software solutions for embedded, test, and simulation applications. As a result of growth, Astronics Ballard Technology is seeking to hire an engineering manager. This person will manage a team of engineers and projects that they work on. The ability to lead people, and to be effective as the person responsible for the development of highly-technical aviation products is key.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Functional management of a multi-discipline team of engineers
* Set goals and provide performance feedback
* Hire, manage, and develop employees
* Understand the market environment that Ballard competes in
* Lead projects from requirements to delivery in a structured engineering environment (AS9100)
* Effectively balance project quality, scope, schedule, resources, cost, manufacturability, and risks
* Transfer products from engineering to manufacturing team
* Work as part of a team of managers to make effective tradeoffs between projects

This position is responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.
Position requires access to controlled technology and information. To abide by Export Compliance Regulations, candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status. Must pass a criminal background check prior to starting work.
