Job Description

The Engineering Support Center and Maintenance Manager (ESCM) is responsible for:

·         Ensuring the hardware, software, visual databases, and maintenance requirements of the KC-46 Aircrew Training System (ATS) contract are met and satisfied by providing support to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the KC-46 ATS product baseline;

·         Identifying and evaluating updates and modifications necessary to maintain the effectiveness and currency of the training system and its configuration concurrency with the KC-46 aircraft; and

·         Budgeting, planning, organizing, and controlling activities in engineering support and device management functions.


Requirements

Education and Formal Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science, equivalent technical degree, or equivalent experience related to assigned duties and responsibilities is required. Master’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, or Management is highly desirable.       
 
 
Experience:
Five years of recent engineering or management experience in ATS operations preferred. 

Prior personnel scheduling experience a plus.

Prior visual systems design and/or development experience a plus.


Responsibilities

  • Directs, plans, controls, and/or coordinates activities of the Engineering Support and Device Maintenance sections to accomplish the configuration requirements for maintenance of the integrity and traceability of the KC-46 ATS baseline configuration.
  • Ensures applicable Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) are technically accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule, as required by contractual and KC-46 Aircrew Training System (ATS) program management requirements.
  • Ensures the configuration management requirements of the KC-46 ATS contract are met and satisfied, while changes to the KC-46 ATS baselines are managed and controlled, as required.
  • Co-chairs the monthly Training System Configuration Working Group (TSCWG) meeting with the Air Force.
  • Chairs the monthly Internal Configuration Control Board (ICCB) meeting.
  • Becomes an active member of Integrated Product Team (IPT) when a modification exceeds the TSSC capabilities.
  • Attends quarterly Program Management Review (PMR) meetings and briefs change activity data and aircrew training device statistics.
  • Assumes responsibility for budgeting, planning, organizing, and controlling activities of the McConnell Training Systems Support Center (TSSC).
  • Supervises site maintenance staff responsible for Weapon System Trainer (WST), Boom Operator Trainer (BOT), Fuselage Trainer (FuT), and Part Task Trainer (PTT) preservation and repair.
  • Oversees and verifies timesheets of personnel.

  • Fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Speak to various size groups, as required.
  • Demonstrate management and technical supervisory skills.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess basic knowledge of ATS and Device Maintenance Systems.
  • Currently possess or demonstrate ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
