  • Ensures technical documentation used by maintenance technicians are up-to-date and reflect the latest information available from the OEM or that reflects the latest HAL unique aircraft/system configuration.
  • Assists engineers in projects to include technical authoring, drawings, configuration control.
  • Makes the necessary entries or updates to maintenance system records (TRAX) to effect new or changed part numbers, engineering orders, controls etc.
  • Is able to execute two or more key responsibilities in a consistent, reliable manner:
    • Provide technical and operational guidance authoring/revising Maintenance Tips, Service Tips, Flight Crew and/or Flight Attendant Operational Tips and Bulletins.
    • Manages a schedule of regular, revision publication dates to help M&E organization stay current on latest aircraft configuration changes. 
    • Keeps abreast of HAL special projects in work, collaborating early with Engineering to ensure documentation is revised concurrent with project implementation and release to service.
    •  Manages HAL administration of ADs, SBs, AOTs, Operator Bulletins and Alerts, keeping an accurate log of the HAL disposition for each. 
    • Runs and manages the HAL Technical Review Group meetings for AD and SB review and project approval board.
    • Performs configuration control (Drawing Checker) administration for Engineering.   
  • Using aircraft CMMs, IPCs, aircraft drawings or other substantiating data, helps resolve technical parts support issues (i.e. conducts research and helps to put part numbers into TRAX system) when Material Planning is unable to determine suitability of a part’s airworthiness for aircraft.
  • Comfortable in working with Boeing Toolbox and Airbus documentation related tools (ADOC, etc.).
  • Responsible for authoring, modifying and improving processes, SOPs and author/edit processes for maintaining technical documentation.  
  • Non-engineering Degree or 2-year certificate from an accredited University or diploma program (Community College), with typically 3-5+yrs in an Engineering Technician capacity at HAL or equivalent industry experience.
  • Works with little supervision and has demonstrated familiarity and proficiency in HAL engineering process and procedures needed to support Engineering, Publication, TRAX, Boeing Toolbox, Back-Office, etc.
  • Must be able to promptly respond after hours.  Must be able to travel occasionally, work flexible hours and work beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays, and non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to provide proactive engineering support, as required, for M&E teams repairing aircraft.  Must communicate effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft systems.  Good, practical knowledge of how to provide engineering support for technical community.
  • Knowledge of common office, drawing or CAD software, TRAX, Boeing Toolbox and Airbus Author/Edit products is required.
