More than 35 years ago, Spectrolab's Illumination Product & Sensor Product Division developed the SX-16 Nightsun Searchlight. The Nightsun Searchlight has become the world's most used airborne searchlight system. Since then, Spectrolab has launched the smaller, yet highly intense SX-5 Starburst Searchlight and the Nightsun XP, which has the same light intensity as the SX-16, with many added programmable enhancements. Domestic and Foreign Military Services, Law Enforcement Agencies, Search and Rescue Teams, and Emergency Medical Services are just a few of the customers that rely on Spectrolab’s Illumination Products to protect borders, fight crime, and save lives worldwide.

The Spectrolab Illumination & Sensor Products division is looking for you! These are just a few of the customers that rely on Spectrolab’s Illumination Products to protect borders, fight crime, and save lives worldwide.   Tasks include: Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.

Qualifications 

Typical Education / Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Requirements:

Experience with Mechanical/Electrical Hardware and Software

Experience with Modeling and 3D CAD Design

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
