The ETS Lead Electrical/Mechanical Engineer leads and manages engineers, who support the Part145 repair shop at Safran Electronics and Defense, Avionics USA. He leads and coordinates the ETS Engineering Team, composed of:
a. The Part 145 Engineer Support team, following the procedure ETSP-300,
b. POC for Business Segment Managers, Helicopter, Regional, Mainline,
c. Project Leader for Entry In Service,
d. Approval authority under ETS Supervisor delegation.
-Maintains team staff by recruiting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains a safe, secure, work environment.
-Lead team on SEDA Site and off Site.
-Accomplishes engineering objectives in accordance with Company directives and Supervisor directives
-Reviews Engineering Requests on a daily basis, accepts and re-assigns it to team or rejects it.
-Assigns or delegates tasks to Team and manages daily priorities between tasks.
-Participates and manages internal improvement initiatives, investigations and audits.
Perform Document Analysis:
-Dispatch Document Analysis activities to Engineering Team.
Develop new repair capacity:
-Manages and coordinates all activities for Entry in Service
-Design and/or subcontract test equipments/tools.
-Reviews, approves under delegation authority and validates the design of test equipment /tools.
-Manage all associated documentation
-Perform entry in service per the approved process in place.
Interface related to OEM repair standards:
-Confers with OEM Technical Support departments if engineering issues arise regarding approved documentations, standards, tests, and consumables,
-Dispatches, reviews FFT's (Fiche de Faits Techniques) and PDA (Product Deviation Authorization) from OEM Technical Support departments and processed by the ETS Engineering Team
-Follows up ticket sent to the OEM Technical Support departments on a weekly basis.
Interface related to DER FAA approved repair documents:
-Reviews the Statement of Work and the Entry in Service, in accordance with OEM Technical Support departments in France.
-Submit draft of repair document to the local DER for FAA approval.
Travel required: 5 – 30%, including international.
Candidate skills & requirements
Basic Qualifications (all candidates must meet these requirements):
-Master's Degree from a five-year engineering college or university.
-English speaker needed and French a plus.
-Green Belt Certification would be a plus.
-Five years of related experience in civil or military avionics and/or aeronautic in Design Office or Engineering.
-Practical experience in aviation will be a plus.
-Strong experience in the use of SAP or equivalent.
-Strong experience in Repair activity processes and procedures, design offices rules and standards.
-Excellent level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project, M-Files
-HSE (Health / Security / Environment) experience related will be a plus.
-This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. (ITAR). -Good Knowledge of production and repair process in the aeronautic environment.
-Knowledge of the repair station documentations and rules.
