The F-22 program is seeking engineers to develop embedded real-time software that executes on board the F-22 Raptor aircraft. The computer software configuration item (CSCI) software engineer is responsible for performing hands-on requirements development, interface definition, design, code, unit testing and integration testing of flight software.
Types of software to be developed include datalinks, sensor fusion, sensor tasking and control, mission management, fire control and embedded training. The CSCI software is currently programmed in the Ada programming language and executes on the Integrity operating system, with plans to develop some software in the C++ programming language with execution on the Linux operating system.
The F-22 Program is transitioning from Seattle to St. Louis. This position requires knowledge transfer from existing staff to be accomplished through a combination of Domestic Temporary Assignment to Seattle (estimated between 6 – 9 months) and business travel, as mutually agreed to between the Program and the employee.

Successful candidates will have experience developing real-time avionics, simulation, modeling or test equipment software. They must work well in a group setting and have strong inter-personal and communication skills. Knowledge of or experience with Agile software development concepts is also required.

Typical education & experience:
Level 2 - Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 3 - Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. This particular position REQUIRES A CURRENT SECRET CLEARANCE as well as the ability to obtain program specific access.
This position requires that you work out of St. Louis, Missouri. You must currently reside in the St. Louis, Missouri area (where relocating would not be required) or be willing to relocate at your own expense.
