The FAA Inspector position performs inspection of product and records quality results under the supervision and direction of the Chief Inspector & Quality Manager.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English verbally and written.
Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints, overhaul manuals, specifications, and repair procedures as applicable.
Completes all necessary inspections of product by utilizing inspection equipment, inspection techniques, specifications, blue prints, technical data, and customer purchase order.
Read and understand material specifications and be knowledgeable of sampling requirements per quality procedures.
Understanding and utilization of ASNE Y14.5 geometric dimension and tolerance principles.
Issuance of 8130, certificate of conformance, and perform necessary computer transactions using Oracle system.
Communicate defective material to team lead, production coordinator, and/or Chief Inspector.
Segregate defective material awaiting review and disposition.
Ensure inspection equipment is functional and calibrated.
Maintains part integrity throughout entire process.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team lead.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an inspection area environment.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to walk, stand, kneel, carry, straight pulling, push, reach above shoulders, and repeat bending. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years’ Experience
Preferred Education and Experience
At least 18 months of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the maintenance duties in an Aviation environment.
A&P License a plus
