To perform multi-skill diagnostic and repair services for manufacturing and delivery processes and equipment.
I. Provides diagnostic and repair service for manufacturing and delivery processes and equipment. Requires an identified core trade skill along with expertise in an additional identified trade skill area necessary to make timely diagnosis and repairs. An electronic service competency is required to meet the requirements of this position.
II. Performs preventive maintenance procedures on a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical equipment and production systems.
III. Requires the ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as “multi-meters”, infrared scanning equipment and other tools necessary for servicing applicable equipment.
IV. Coordinates and/or performs assigned work. Works with contractors and other maintenance personnel if necessary to ensure repairs are made properly and with minimum impact on operations.
V. Maintains open communications with supervision and customer department personnel. Documents all activities with MMCS tools and departmental procedural requirements.
VI. Performs other duties as required.
Requires a high school education plus formal technical training, preferably electrical/electronics, computerized/programmable controllers or other manufacturing technology applications. Must be competent in the use of blueprint/schematic materials. Specific documented experience of service work directly related to this field of service and demonstrated ability can be substituted for this requirement.
Three to five years documented experience in a maintenance skilled trade related to the intended assignment, plus 2 years experience or apprenticeship in a designated additional applicable trade or skill set.
Somewhat disagreeable due to temperatures, dust, machinery related fluids and uncomfortable working positions.
